Application Process for International Students
You will complete your application electronically through our online portal at BAU International University Batumi: While registering, you will enter your personal details and upload the required documents.
Required Documents:
For Freshman Students:
High-school graduation diploma GCE A levels.
Transcript of the academic record.
Copy of passport.
Internationally accepted English Language Certificate if available (minimum required level - B2).
Turkey National Exam Certificate with the result of being in the list of the first 50,000 students for the Medicine program and 80,000 for Dentistry (for Turkish citizens only).
The National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) (for Indian citizens only).
For Transfer Students:
Transcript of academic records from previous universities.
Copy of passport.
Internationally accepted English Language Certificate (minimum required level - B2 for non-English programs only).
If you are still waiting for your final documents to be issued, please submit a statement of your predicted grades. This will allow us to process your application on a conditional basis. You will need to provide the official final transcripts when you receive them. Once you have completed your online application, we will review it, and you should receive evaluation results via a Conditional Acceptance Letter within 2 days.
After receiving a Conditional Acceptance Letter, you should make an application fee payment of 500 USD within 5 days. The application fee is non-refundable. As soon as we receive the payment, we will start the process of gaining recognition of foreign education and enrollment procedures with the Ministry of Education of Georgia. This procedure might take up to 3 weeks. After receiving recognition of foreign education and enrollment confirmation from the Ministry of Education of Georgia, the university issues a Final Enrollment Document for the student. This document should be issued during the Visa application process (in case a Visa is needed).
After enrollment at BAU International University Batumi, students are required to go through academic and financial registration at the Student Support Center before the academic semester starts. Registration dates are defined by the Academic Calendar.
Application Process for Georgian Citizens
Citizens of Georgia are enrolled at BAU International University Batumi via Unified National Exams.
Apart from exams in mandatory subjects, students can take one of the following optional exams: Chemistry, Physics, or Mathematics. The level of competencies for optional-mandatory exams is 25%.
The Level of Competencies for Mandatory Exams for 2024 Are as Follows:
Biology - 30%.
Georgian Language - 30%.
English Language - 70%.
Georgian students enrolled at BAU International University Batumi via Unified National Exams can benefit from State Grants that will be deducted from the tuition fee. After successfully passing the Unified National Exams, the University Rector signs the order on a candidate’s enrollment to an appropriate faculty and specialty, which acts as the final acceptance document. Students are required to go through academic and financial registration at the Student Support Center before the academic semester starts. Registration dates are defined by the Academic Calendar.
The Students Should Provide the Following Documents:
Original high-school graduation diploma.
Certificate of passing the Unified National Exams.
4 biometric 3x4 photos.
Military duty certificate or proof of registration for military service (for males only).
Tuition fee payment bank receipt.
Citizens of Georgia who have completed secondary education abroad are enrolled at BAU International University Batumi through the admission procedures set for international students.
Language Requirements
Since all of our programs are fully taught in English, we require proof of your language skills. If your language skills are at B2 level or above, one of the following language test certificates and scores can be accepted for your application:
TOEFL (iBT 79).
IELTS 6.5 (Acad.).
FCE B.
YDS 80.
Pearson PTE Acad. 78.
CAE A.
If you have completed high school in a majority-English speaking country, then you don’t need to provide proof of your language skills.
BAU International University Batumi applicants are offered to take the English Language exam “BAU Proficiency” if they have the required command of English but can’t provide any of the above-mentioned international language certificates. The minimum score for the BAU Proficiency exam should be 60. Dates of Examination will be provided to you by the Student Support Center.
If you do not yet have level B2 English and are eligible to study in one of the programs at BAU Batumi, you can sign up for our English Preparatory School at the BAU Istanbul branch.
Study Fees and Other Costs
Medicine Program Fees:
International students: Tuition Fee — 6500 USD per year, payable per semester 3250 USD.
Georgian Citizens: Tuition Fee — 10000 GEL per year, payable per semester 5000 GEL.
Dentistry Program Fees:
International students: Tuition Fee — 4500 USD per year, payable per semester 2250 USD.
Georgian Citizens: Tuition Fee — 7000 GEL per year, payable per semester 3500 GEL.
In addition to the study fees, we recommend calculating the following costs:
Accommodation: Around 350 — 400 USD per month.
We do not currently offer accommodation for students. Upon request, we will be happy to issue a list of websites that can get your search started. When looking for accommodation, please keep in mind the following advice to ensure you are not subject to fraud:
Do not transfer any money without seeing the room/flat you want to rent and receiving the key.
Check if you can register yourself to this address with the registry office (Bürgeramt). If not, then we recommend not choosing this accommodation.
Try to speak to your future flatmates.


Financing - Scholarship
Students can earn funding only after enrollment in the university based on their academic performance at the end of the semester. If the GPA indicator is 91 and higher after the end of the semester, they are eligible for 50% funding, which means a 50% reduction in tuition fees for the next semester.
